Be the editor
Whoever writes a story's first part becomes its editor. The editor reads the parts that arrive and chooses what carries the story forward.

An editor can set a story to add submitted parts automatically, without review. The first part to arrive joins the main story, and later ones are kept as other branches.

User guide
- Accounts
- Reading needs no sign-in. Writing, liking and starting a story need an account.
- Rules
- The editor sets the maximum length of a part, whether parts are reviewed first, and whether the same writer may write consecutive parts.
- Awaiting review
- Until the editor selects it, a part is visible only to its writer and the editor. While it waits it can be edited at any time, and the editor may ask for changes.
- Branches
- You can propose a new branch even where a part is already in the story. The editor decides whether it goes in, and readers choose which branch to read.
- Finishing
- The editor can finish a story. A finished story can still be read, but no more parts can be added.
- Editing and deleting
- A part that is in the story cannot be edited or deleted, and only the editor can delete the whole story.
- Copyright
- Copyright in what you write stays with you. Inkline uses it only to show it and to run the service. Because many writers take turns on a story, parts that are in a story stay there after you delete your account, shown as by "A former writer".

- Inkline is in beta, and every feature is free.
